The Council of Hats

Sheba, having discovered the meaning, returned. The City of Az was a burning desire to make hats, big ones.

I am home darling! She cry, throwing her car keys into the cut glass bowl on the taupe-coloured wooden consul in the hallway and kicking off her waders.

In here, called She Sphinx, echoey and distant.

Where is here?

In the sports hall, near the badminton court. How did it go with the Infested Fountain Quest thingy?

Yes, great, tiring though, I’ll tell you all about it later. I’ll just design a few hats before supper I think, can I get you anything?

No, I’m fully engaged in this badminton game at the moment my dear. I’ll be with you in a mo.

The shapes around the image are thought to allude to hat shapes but it is hardly clear. It is clear however that the Three gauntlet emblem refers to the three couples. Sheba and the Sphinx, Vivainne Desegur and Constance and lastly the Blue Knights (sans bebe)

Morning, a card, gilded about the margins, was delivered, inviting Sheba and The Sphinx to the Council of Hats, attending, the Blue Knight (Man), the Blue Woman Knight, Vivainne Desegur and her beloved, Constance.

The council was held in the great hall, where a fire had also been laid.

So, its Hats then, began the Blue Knight, designated chairperson, children’s author, stay at home father and Questing Knight extraordinaire, Let the record state.

The Furious Fountain confirmed, confirmed Sheba, There can be no love without Hats. Thus, more Hats, more Love.

I get it, said Vivainne, I’ve always liked a broad brimmed hat in the rain.

I have no understanding of Haticulture, said the Sphinx, should I leave?

No, no, they all, stay with us, we all need a Sphinx in a tight corner.

She Sphinx settled back.

So, order of play, a name for this Quest?

I was thinking something catchy like, Put a Lid On it or Hats r Us or The Hat Dolorous or The Perilous Cap?

She is disappointed that her hat is not bigger.

Let’s work on that one then. First first, I think a comprehensive study of Hats through history and a treatise on the significance of Hats in culture around the world, is called for.

Let’s split and reconvene to reference our research this time next.

I am with Sheba, said She Sphinx, we have been separate too long. We shall discern the land of Hard Hats which can be used in engineering. Let the record read, Practical Hats.

I shall travel with Vivainne, said Constance, Loneliness has never proved conducive to quality study. We shall inquire at the land of Wide Hats, which cover a multitude of sins.

Then we Blue knights shall go team wise, if that’s good for you my dear, said the Blue Knight turning to his partner the Blue Woman Knight. We shall travel to the place of Spiritual Hats in the East. Wherein we have it on good author that the Holy Hat itself might hail.

The Blue Woman Knight smiled, she was a woman of few words and uncompromising.

That is then settled, let us cut up the compass in thirds and travel to strange lands with a view to researching our new and improved designs for hats.

When our research is, we shall make a range of hats par excellence to bring more love to the hat wearing public.

Is a balaclava considered a hat? Asked the Sphinx from the back of the Hall, or is it just a head glove?
