The Shoulder of the Hill of a Woman and The Wasteland

Then, that is what happened next, most exciting. The Blue Knights made their thanks and tributes to the Sun, the Wind and the Ice. Of all mostly to the Penguins and their Regal Empress, who had saved the world. Hurrah!

Soon, when they had gone, the Blue Knights, with Sheba and the Sphinx, travelled to the Shoulder of the Hill of a Woman. There they could see, in the distance, the Great and Marvellous City of Az, which the Blue Knights must needs to be safe within, as the Blue woman Knight was with child and must be thereabouts to deliver the child in safe.

Sheba and the Sphinx made decisions to travel together in search of the wildest of herbs and rarest of medicaments in the most far flung-out on to the ground places. Also, the Sphinx was attached to Sheba with mane care and mane maintenance.

There became two story lines when there had been only one, so I will follow Sheba and the Sphinx for their onwards now.

They travelled as slow as was the time passing. Sheba always to leave the path and forage, searching in a thicket and lost, again. The Sphinx scaring away any would be scavengers or bandits or robbers or con men and women, scam artists, trick turners, truck drivers, cat burglars, joy riders, shop lifters, driving without due care and diligence, rude people, aggressive salespeople, cold callers, phishing patrols, false prophets, real prophets, fortune tellers, pantomime clowns, car mechanics, carpenters, accountants etc.

It is surprising who you meet in the wastelands.

There, they travelled across hard and stony ground which seemed to bear no life or plants in it, on it, or under it.

Shall we scoot across this place quick quick, said the Sphinx and find a place which is all green with growing things?

No, no, be not so haste, said Sheba, in the most bare and rocky and barren of places come sometimes the most interesting and effective medicaments. It seems that if a plant must struggle to survive, then in consequent the strong of its life bloods might become big in potence.

Let us search careful in the many crevices and small rocky bits, as we may not pass this again in a long while or life. There is one herb in exact that I am in need. It being called by some the Rocky Frail, by others the Hard Flower and by others yet again Creeping Pennywort or Headsmans Bane. This is a herb of mighty standing in the world of healers as it can facilitate the regrowth of any part of the body that has been cut off, if it is applied soon after the injury.

Even unto a tail, enquired the Sphinx

Even unto a tail, confirmed Sheba.

This is the case, said the Sphinx, with an excitement, I shall be looking so close to not miss it, that my nose shall touch even often the very rock. Also, why is not it not called Tailagain. If I can find it then I am shall pleased complete.

So the searched for it, small blue and flowers trefoil down close to the rock.

Is this it, said the Sphinx, No, said Sheba that is an ants nest. Is this it, no that is a rabbit dropping. Is this it, no, that is your very breath upon the rock. Now you must stay still, and I shall soon find it without qvestion.

Then the Sphinx slept, while Sheba made proper her search. Eventually time came it to her across the rocks, into her safe keeping. Then the Sphinx begged Sheba that she might take some herb to keep, that if she lost her tail, which was her pride, then it might be restored. And that was given. Then Sheba said, You owe me, and the Sphinx answered, That I do.
