The Blue Woman travelled far under the seas and oceans in searching for the full of troubles of it. Many had been seen and not understood. At first, she decided that she might be to destroy all civilization on land, but after some discussion with the Mer People, it was decided that this might be a bit harsh and too extreme. Then there was speaking of a great wall to stop them messing with the ocean or to put them all in prison. Higher taxes were discussed, and punitive actions were mooted.
Eventually, after much discussion and many useless ideas having been tossed aside, it was decided to make a picture of an ailing fish being swamped by debris. It would be placed it up on the beach so that the air people, (people who lived on land, i.e. most people) would see it and understand the consequences of their action when throwing debris, effluent, detritus etc. into the oceans of the world. It would be called the Bigger Picture.

And so, the Blue Woman, or the Woman in Blue as the Mer-People called her, began to make a picture to tell or show or imply or educate or evidence or feel the problems of the world from the perspective of the people of the Mer.
She made a great fish picture who was not looking well by some debris in the water.
Quite tricky, this art thing, said the Woman in Blue to herself.
They took by drag and by swim to the coast, and the Woman in Blue pushed it hard up to sit upon the rocks where in the people there would notice and be amazed or.
Now that her painting was done, she slept on the sea floor surrounded by small fish and a sea snail and a sponge. All of the mess had made her to be depressed. Olivia Morpheus the giant octopus came and wrapped her up in her arms. The Blue Woman dreamt there some dreams, one in which the world was crying, one in which the world was breathing and one in which the world was calling her name. These dreams or tales are told elsewhere in the Book of the Guardians.

She awoke embraced by the giant octopus who was looking after her, and she felt better in its protecting arms. A shark came to look, the octopus waves a great finger arm and the shark went away.
I cannot return to my beloved until my quest is done and the water is clear, thought the Woman who was Blue, I shall make an army to collect the rubbish of plaztic that is everywhere in the seas, making them into a poison potage. She trained all the octopus and squids and cuttle fishes, in fact all the cephalopods, because their arms made to suit the occasion. And did make them to collect and extricate and discern all the platzics with the imagine of bringing them back to the land for to see the cleaning begin.
Instead, they took them near a volcano with its hot hugeness which was also under the sea. You didn’t think that volcanoes were only on land did you? And melted all the plaztics into a great barge or barges wherein all the other waste, tin cans, bicycle wheels, fishing gear, a lot of fishing gear meaning nets and floats etc. and washing machines and so many many rubbish, all broken into the barges it went. Then they sailed the barges to the land ports and emptied them there. But still the water came dirty with all the cities of the world pouring their unfit untreated effluent where it was not wanted.
So she made the world to take a series of deep breaths and spit out all the bad stuff away. Then the world drew in a great breath so that all the stuff lying about was rattled and jostled and banged. The stuff became dislodged from its muddy house. Then the world let out the great breath and so that all the stuff having been loosed came rushing out upon the land once more and the water came clear and sparkling with life.
Then the world felt a lot better.
