Lost and Found

The three knights travelled some days and some days. The Blue Woman Knight following back the way she had come, to the rocky shore where she had first become herself.

Here they found some fisherwomen and fishermen who were good with fish. Although they knew the whereabouts of the Blue Knight, they would not tell it because they understood that the Blue Ship protected their sea. That if he was to be taken and unenchanted, then any great serpent or ogre might move in and make fishing a dangerous and unpleasant experience.

So, as it was time, the three knights made pavilion upon the rocky shore to remain. In the morning, early as the sea mist was strong about, as the knights stood watch upon the shore, the Blue Ship rose up from the depths and there, upon its decks, their friend, the Blue Knight stood alone with seaweed in his hair and eyes shining like pearls.

Here we see the Blue Knight aboard the Blue Ship. If we are to follow the twists and turns of this confusing Tale correctly, he should not be wearing his armour and supporting a sword and shield as, earlier in the Tale, the Blue Women had taken them away and worn them herself.

I knew that you would come, he said with a voice like the wind in the rigging, un-enchant me so that I may come ashore and be whole once more with my beloved.

Who is he talking about? Enquired the Blue Woman, Surely not myself, he looks like a bit of a ruffian to me.

We shall do our most strong that this, your wish, might be, and your enchantment will be uncome, called out Vivainne to the Blue Knight, First of all we must find the enchanter of these place. Speak not now of your beloved, enchantments prevent understanding as we stand.

We know the enchanter in this place, the spoke people of the fish. It is the undersea people of Mer who make this ship and knight to remain as their protectoress. You must meet with them in their watery palaces to have this undone.

If that is so done, then our lives are harder, and we would that before or preceeding your attempts and trying to un-enchant this ship and its crew, then scour the seas to make safe our lives with no Serpents, Ogres or Krakens. This then is our request to you.

This is a quest indeed, cried the Blue Woman from the cliffs, I shall jump into the waters and fight whatever I can find.

Steady now, Vivainne cautioned, it seems that only the crew of the Blue Ship may fight beneath the waves.

They struck their pavilion and made weigh upon the ship, a crew of four now in rediness to clear the Kraken from the depths wherein he might slumbered.

When they had made all their reunions, one with another. The Blue Knight and the Blue woman, Vivainne and Constance with the Blue Knight. They came to have counsel together saying, we must make the seas full pleasant for the fisherfolk with no outstanding beasts to break their peaceful lives. How then shall we approach this.

I shall go with myself to the depths and slay any wandering danger there, said the Blue Knight.

We shall scour the depths for danger together, said Vivaianne and Constance, whilst you Blue people shall remain to steady the ship.

I shall go alone said the Blue Woman taking up the nearest sword in a show to strike down the enemies.

Then they had argue all around who might be the one or ones but all in good spirit.

Then came the night and they must therefore sleep upon the decks amongst the fish scales and tails.

In the night dark and darkness, the Blue Woman, silent as the tides, put upon her helm and gauntlets, her breast plate and cuirass, her poleyn, cuisses and sabotens. She lifted up the heavy sword and shield. Then, more in silence than sound, she arrived by quiet steps at the gunwhale and looking neither to left or right, flung herself, with helm first, into the briney seas.
