The Book of Chivalry

There was in time a book that was name the Book of Chivalry, which all knights made to be true. In its pages were the ways a knight or man, but not a woman, could become most pure and honourable. Most and many of these were steeped in extreme danger. To save a person from harm was indeed honourable, but to do a good deed with one leg in the jaws of a beast or evading the sword of a one maddened in blood was the most honourable.

Here we see an image of the Book of Chivalry guarded by knights known as the Shields of Chivalry but also often referred to as the Knights of Oblivion as it was believed that these knights slumbered an enchanted sleep until the Book was threatened.

Now came the Blue Knight who had seen the World of the Dead, unknown to the Knights and people of the world of the living. He wit danger and its consequent ushering of all who aspired to it through the Doors of Death, was not something to seek out or be proud. In his truth the opposite held true, if one might avoid mortal danger and still make acts of kindness and honour, then one should be thought wise. The Blue Knight also saw women were making honourable acts of all kinds as were men, led the Blue Knight to know that The Book of Chivalry must be rewritten or else destroyed.

Here we have shown the relevant page from the Book of The Guardians in which the exploits of Vivainne Desgur and the Blue Knight are detailed. The Book of Chivalry, although containing many wise traditions was also felt to be one of the reasons that women’ s contributions to society were often overlooked.

Having returned to Montsegur wherein Vivainne Desegur and Constance made their home, the Blue Knight told of his plan with Vivainne and asked if she would ride with him on his quest to rewrite The Book of Chivalry. He felt that were the book to be rewrit with a fair and equal place within its pages for women, then a woman should be present to guide its new content.

Vivainne agreed, but Constance was still weak from her travails in the desert in search of the Healing Cup, it was decided that she must remain to gather her health and strength.

So, it came to be that Vivainne and the Blue Knight set forth on a quest to Discover and Rewrite the Book of Chivalry which had ruled the land for time beyond measure.

The Book, as far as was known, was safe kept by an order of knights known as the Shields of Chivalry on an island fastness hid forever from those not given the secret of its finding. In mists and fogs made thick by enchantments the island lay far from prying eyes.

It was said that only the most valiant and pure of heart could come to discover the island and its precious book. So that Vivainne and the Blue Knight must first go to the Man or Woman on the Rock who could guide them to make pure their hearts and minds in preparation for their journey.
