It came that now Vivainne, Constance and the Blue Knight were in full aware of Celeste’s unjust exile and banishment from her children. They were full amazed at the injustice that the Lord revealed. When they wit that the Lord had taken Celeste’s children into his custody, so they knew what it was that they must do. They must visit this Lord in full force, release the children back into the arms of their mother and dissuade the Lord from further conduct such as this.
They approached in front the strong castle as peaceable travellers and could enter therein. Once inside they drew swords and forced their way with mighty threats and strong words into the hall of the Unjust Lord. This man sat high in his place with Celeste’s children by him to parlais with the three knights.

For all their threats and strong words, it was true that the Lord had many knights and men at arms about him, but he agreed to release the children if Vivainne could find a salve for the terrible plague or ague which still troubled his lands, causing the people to stop breathing and soon pass away.

It was not known how the plague did pass amongst the people and this brought fear to them. Vivainne agreed to find a remedy and after visiting her learned friend, the Flaming Scholar, she advised that in the passing time between the now and the remedy, all the people should wash most careful and wear a cloth over the mouth to stop the breath and plague going from person to person.
So, Vivainne, the Flaming Scholar and Celeste talked the problem and came to it that there was a plant which grew in the heart of a desert far away to the south which held the best chance of defeating the plague, they knew that they would have to gather many leaves of this plant, clean it and steep it in clear water before it could be administered to prevent the disease from counting its deathly toll. Upwards of seventy people in every one hundred must take the cure if the people were to be protected,
Vivainne sent knights out into the world to discover and bring back the precious herbs.
