The woman, whose name was Celeste, lived with her children at the edge of the forest where they kept a fine garden of vegetables and herbs. Now the village people would often come to her when a remedy was needed for some wound or ailment and Celeste was glad to help with her broad knowledge of plants and their abilities.
Then came an illness or plague into that country and the people died a lot. The Unjust Lord of that land looked for a place to vent his anger at his impotence in the face of this plague. He felt that he needed to show his people that he was in full charge of all things. So when he was told about the wise woman who dealt in ailments he spun a malicious tale that it was she who had caused the plague to spread in his land. He sent some of his knights to her home and they took her away from her children and made her to exile in the forest, keeping her children unto himself.

Celeste came so angry, she vowed to rid the land of all knights by throwing a strong enchantment to cause them to fight each other when the sun shewed its face and yet to lie still and silent when the sun was hidden.
When the Blue Knight heard her Tale, he was also sore vexed and made Celeste to make an oath to never make the knights fight, these knights who were innocent of the original offence, more. This she undertook to do, but she told that she was not able to bring them back from their quiet state in lying full flat and for this another remedy could be yet found.

Luckily, none of the wounds sustained by the fighting knights was of a mortal nature and the Blue Knight hoped that they would all regain their liveliness when the remedy had been found.
He built his pavilion there in a clear place therein the forest and began to bring the Knights into it, placing their swords and lances in a great pile. Just as he was about to take the last sleeping knight, which by chance was Constance, into the pavilion, Vivaine arrived and he was forced to fight her to ensure that none of the knight’s arms were taken. He did not know that Vivaine was the beloved of Constance who lay there, unmoving, on the ground.
When Vivainne had heard this, Celeste’s Tale, she gave the quiet knights some of the Waters from the Silent Spring and they were revived.
