This is a page is taken from the Book of the Guardians of the Cave. It depicts the events directly after the Archbishop, in a fit of frustration that the Chapel would never be completed, cried out that it would only take the finding of a Simple Sone. Unfortunately, this exclamation led to a fever of searching far and wide by the majority of the knights of the court. Several ‘Simple Stones’ were found and the ensuing disputes as to which stone was genuine led to three deaths through individual combat and a small war between two outlying regions who both claimed the honour of owning the simple Stone.
For years after these tragic events, street vendors could be found selling small pieces of the Simple Stone to the devout pilgrims who came to the Chapel to touch the Stone.
